About Common Cause Co-operative

Who We Are

Common Cause started in 1991. . We have a board of voluntary Directors who develop and oversee our work: Topsy Jewell, Katharine Finnigan, Lesley Healey, Debbie King, Vicky Trehaile and Rosie Chapman. We have a membership scheme which is open to all who share our aims.

Our Aims

Common Cause aims are social, economic and environmentally sustainable community development, supporting local food production and connections between producers and consumers, agricultural development that is sensitive to the landscape and its biodiversity and social enterprises and initiatives.

Our Current Projects

We do this through the Lewes Farmers Market Lewes Community Allotment, The Mosaic and Lewes House Garden Project, Ringmer Community Orchard and Seedy Saturday Lewes. We also support the Land Workers’ Alliance campaign for Good Food, Good Farming.
